Bishop Abraham Open 2004 Chess Tournament Saturday December 4^th, 2004

Venue:	Bishop Abraham Elementary School, 196 Pennywell Rd, A1C 2L6 See map for the location.
Registration:	9:00 AM to 9:30 AM
Lunch:	No formal lunch break. Canteen service available.
Finish Time:	Approximately 3:00 PM.
Format:	5 rounds Swiss pairing 30 minutes per player per game.
Entry Fee:	$10.00 per player

The tournament will be open to all grades (K-12). Each player will compete in one of the following sections:

Section 1	Kindergarten to Grade 3
Section 2	Grade 4 to Grade 6 players
Section 3	Grade 7 to Grade 12 players

In grades 1 to 6, medals will be awarded for first, second and third place in each grade. (Any kindergarten players will treated as Grade 1 players). There will also be certificates for best performance in each section and best performance by an unrated player. Finalist Pins will be awarded to all other players engaged in tie-breaker games. In the high school section, cash prizes will be awarded the details of which will be decided on the day of the tournament subject to the numbers registering.

Important Note to Parents:

All tournament participants must be supervised by a parent or designated guardian. Neither the Newfoundland and Labrador School Chess Association (NLSCA) nor Bishop Abraham Elementary School will be held responsible for the safety or behaviour of participants not actively engaged in tournament play.
