Vanier Open Chess Tournament Date: May 7th (Saturday) 2005 Venue: Vanier Elementary School Ennis Avenue, St. John's (See map).

Tournament date: Saturday, May 7th at Vanier Elementary School, Ennis Avenue (off Torbay Road in the East End of St. John's - See map for details). All Primary and Elementary players (Grades K to 6) are welcome.
Two Sections:

Five regular round plus possible tiebreakers - scholastic rated. Primary and Elementary sections trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each section . "Top Player" certificates for each grade and "Best Performance" for each section together with prizes to be drawn by name for each section. A canteen service will be provided with soft drinks, chips and hot dogs.

Entry fee - $10 per player, payable at the door.
Important Note to Parents: All
tournament participants must be supervised by a parent or designated
guardian. Neither the Newfoundland and Labrador School Chess Association (NLSCA)
nor its volunteers, nor the staff at Vanier Elementary School will be held
responsible for the safety or behaviour of participants not actively engaged
in tournament play. The responsibility of the tournament organizers will be
limited to ensuring fair competition in accordance with NLSCA tournament
